IMPHAL, Aug 23: In an operation at Jalal-crossing of Thangal Bazar yesterday, commandos of Imphal West District arrested two active members of KCP (MC). The arrested persons have been identified as Ibungo Arambam, 34, s/o of A Achouba of Nagamapal Nitinanda and Hando Smith Simte, 33, s/o (L) Hando Khupsoi of Langol Type-II. Two numbers of .32 ammo were seized from the possession of Ibungo Arambam.   

IMPHAL, August 11: A team of CDO Imphal East on Friday arrested a KCP (Lamphel) cadre namely, Khumbongmayum Pratap Meitei alias Naobi, 30, son of (L) Kh Tompapu Singh of Nongada Thongkhong, said a police release.

On verification, he disclosed that he joined the group in the year 2012 under his own elder brother Khumbongmayum Ibomcha alias Lamphel of the group. On further verification, he disclosed that he had extorted a huge amount of money since January 2012 with the instruction of his brother Ibomcha alias Lamphel from various individuals, public, as well as private firms, it said.

Further, a team of CDO Imphal East today arrested one KNLF cadre namely, Jamkhohou Touthang alias Haopu, 27, son Henkholen Touthang of Aigijang village under Saikhul Police Station from New Checkon crossing area, it further said.

On verification, he disclosed that he is presently working under the command of a s/s finance secretary, Hegin alias Harry, 30, of KNLF. On further verification, he disclosed that he was involved in extortion of money from general public, government offices, private farms etc. He was also involved in transportation of arms and ammunitions from one place to another with his associate namely Papao of Churachandpur, it added.
