IMPHAL, September 21: Family members of Lok Sabha MP from the state, Dr Thokchom Meinya this morning at 10.10 am, recovered a hand grenade from the MP’s residential courtyard. The MP’s residence is at Moidangpok Joipur Khunou, under Patsoi PS.
According to source, the grenade was found wrapped inside a polythene bag.
Family members recovered the grenade early this morning and informed the police.
Soon after receiving the information, a Patsoi PS team led by its OC Basanta rushed to the MP’s residence and retrieved the grenade at around 10:30am.
It is also learnt that the MP who is currently out of station was supposed to reach Imphal at 2pm.
