IMPHAL, Sept 21: The Manipur Loumi Lup in association with the Irawat Celebration Committee, Manipur as in the previous years observed the Manipur Kanba Numit today at the Irawat Memorial Hall, Challou, Lamlai.
Media persons from Imphal however returned without fully covering the function.
The programme as started late at around 2:30pm even though the invite said it was to start at 1pm.
Notwithstanding the delayed start of the function due to the non-arrival of several invitees including the functional president, former Minister Parijat Singh, the organizers instead of starting the function continued to felicitate newly elected gram Panchayat Ward members, Pradhans and ZIlla Parishad of the Lamlai area.
Angered by the lack of responsibility of the organizers, media persons from Imphal left the venue midway of the programme.
