Tablets seized

    IMPHAL, September 26: Customs officials following receipt of specific information regarding a drug consignment halted a goods truck (MNO1/7244) at Kangpokpi area today morning.

    It was found that among the various goods packed for transport, banned pseudo ephedrine tablets numbering about 7000 tablets of Actidin company and 37,490 tablets of Amlesun Plus were found packed and hidden along with the other parcels. Moreover, 14 kgs of Pangolin scales were also seized.

    The pangolin scales are estimated to be worth around Rs 8,40,000 in the black market when calculated at a price of Rs 60,000 per kg. The drugs are also estimated to be worth about 2 lacs.
