TRUGPU, KSC win high scoring matches

IMPHAL, September 24: TRUGPU, Nambol and KSC, Lambulane emerged winners in two high scoring matches of the Manipur State League played today at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

Playing the first match of the day, TRUGPU scored eight goals against JSYC, Sadar Hills’ one goal to clinched its first win of the league and open its points account.

In another high scoring match of the day, KSC defeated USA, Khurai by 5-2.

TRUGPU scored three goals in the first half of the match and added another five goals in the second half of the match, while JSYC managed to score a consolation goal in the second half.

The scorers for TRUGPU are Sh Meiraba (17th), M Robinson (38th) and N Rajesh Meetei (45th) in the first half and L Fernando Singh (65th, 80th), N Rajesh Meetei (71st) Kenneth Chiru (54th) and S Bonson Singh (82nd) in the second half.

Lalneo Khongsai scored the lone goal for JSYC in the 88th minute.

Meanwhile, in the second match USA lead the first half by 2-1 however in the second half, KSC not only equalised the score but added two more to finish the game with a 5-2 win.

The scorers for USA are L Milan (31st) and L Sanatomba (45+1st).

Lamkhogen Kipgen scored the first for the winning team in the 9th minute of the match. Lalneidiu Hmar (47th), G Hausonpau (52nd), G Ngulkhosiem (77th) and Themreisang AS (79th) scored for KSC.
