IMPHAL, September 28: To minimise casualties as a result of motor accidents in the capital, Imphal West Police issued orders against driving two-wheeler without protective helmets.
A press note issued by the Superintendent of Police, Imphal West Police, K Jayenta Singh informed two-wheeler drivers as well as pillion drivers to wear protective helmets as per provision of section 129 of Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
Anyone found driving the said vehicles without helmets will be fined and challenged as per the Act with immediate effect, added the source.
