IMPHAL, September 14: The Manipur Adventure & Allied Sports Institute (MAASI) has notified in a statement that “World Tourism Day” will be held on September 27 at MAASI Complex Keirao.
The theme for this year is “Tourism and Sustainable Energy Giving Special Emphasis on; international tourism on track to hit on billion by end of 2012, food tourism on important pillar for tourism growth along the Silk Road, contribution to the 3 pillars of sustainability, proceeding job and supporting the livelihoods of millions particularly for women & youth people, green innovation in tourism can trigger major economic social and environmental benefits, tourism vital to lacking global economic challenges.”
The world tourism day will be observed with various programmes including spot painting for children, film show, trekking, musical entertainment, cultural programme, games, cafeteria, distribution of tourist literature, cycle safari, Moto cycle safari, free health check-up, tree plantation etc.
