Francis preaches unity and brotherhood

IMPHAL, October 6: Minister Francis Ngajokpa preached unity and brotherhood to Maram people at a reception function of the Minister held today at Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Maram Centre organized by Maram Khullen Circle. 

Addressing the function Francis Ngajokpa, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Economic and Statistic, thanked the people of Maram for supporting him during election inspite of all odds.

He further continued that “According to the history of Maram people, Maram is the eldest brother, the second is Tangkhul, and the youngest is the Meitei. Since we are the eldest we should be humble, generous, understanding.” 

“We should act as the catalyst agent in save guarding the national highway, which is the lifeline of Manipur. Many cannot afford the flight fare and travel on road. We should always be ready to extend our help to these travellers on the highway,” he said. 

He also encouraged the local students of Don Bosco School, Maram to show good example to the students who are coming from other parts of the state and outside. He appealed the Maram people to extend their co-operation to the school and said that many people from outside state also have extended their services to the school in making it one of the best school in the state.

“Let us not make differences of Muslims, Meiteis, Nagas etc and let us stay united as one as a Manipuri,” he said.   

He also encouraged the young leader of Maram community to extend their support in keeping the Highway safe for the travellers.

The Minister donated 1000 bag of rice and also installed a new transformer for Maram Khullen during his visit.
