IMPHAL, October 6: A team of Imphal east Commando team arrested two (2) cadres of KYKL (MDF-faction) from a place near Sawombung Thongkhong Awang Leikai. The arrested has been identified as (1) Yambem Manisana Singh, 33, son of Y Chaoba Singh of Sawombung Thongkhon Awang Leikai and (2) Khumanthem Biken Singh, 33, son of Kh Kunjabi Singh of SAwombung Thongkhong from Sawombung Thongkhong Awang Leikai.
A mobile phone and a vodafone sim were recovered from the possesion of Yambem Manisana Singh., The police statement said and added, they were involved in several extortion cases under the command of their s/s revenue officer Megha of Lamsang side of KYKL (MDF)
In another statement issued by the Lt Col Maj, PRO of HQ IGAR stated troops of 15 Assam Rifles of 9 sector arrested two PLA cadres on October 5 from a place near Naukhong Wakchinglok under Thoubal district. The arrested were idenitied as SS CPLaolinmol Vaiphei alias Momoi aliad Moi, 25 years, so.on Kailun Vaiphei, r/o Kanaphai Andro Khunuou and Tarongthel and Mangleanlal Vaiphei 23, son of Soigingthang Vaiphei, r/o Makonbung.
Upon interrogation, they revealed that they were tasked to plant an IED against security forces in Thoubal istrict.
A one 9 mm pistol wiith magazine, three live rounds, 2 kgs of plastic explosives and two detonators, were recovered from the apprehendeeds who along with recoveries were handed over to Thoubal police station.
In another statement from the PRO stated 15 Assam Rifles of 9 sector in associatio with 3 Army dog unit conducted a ceterinary cam on 6 October . The aim of the camp was to provide doorstep treatment and preventve vaccination to the ailing animals in the remote areas. More than 2200 animals including poultry were given treatment and vccination during the camp. Special emphasis was given for vaccination of dogd with anti rabies vaccines.
