IMPHAL,November 9: All Tribal Contractors’ Association of Manipur has expressed its discontent regarding the Cheque drawal authority issued by the Finance Department of Manipur, under order no. 13/1/2003-FR(8)pt on November 5 as the amount provided district wise had completely omitted Chandel, Tamenglong and Ukhrul districts and insignificant amount for Senapati Districts.
According to the press release of the association, the allotment was based on communal lines neglecting the Naga inhabited districts as the total amount released of Rs. 9,23,00242/- under C.D.A was concentrated only for valley districts besides Churachandpur and Sadar Hills.
Therefore, the association request the attention of the Chief Secretary of Manipur to look into the matter and also warned that if no tangible outcome is seen in 3 days ,they would start a democratic protest including seeking legal advice from competent court.
