Khaplang group to start dialouge

DIMAPUR, Nov 23 (Newmai News Network): The NSCN faction led by S.S. Khaplang will start its `series of meetings` from early part of next month in connection with the much hyped dialogue with the Government of India.

The NSCN-K is likely to begin talks with New Delhi in a couple of months` time.

Sources disclosed to Newmai News Network today that NSCN-K will put up talks modalities like the “solution should be for the whole Nagas.”

NSCN-K sources said today the Khole-Kitovi faction of NSCN is only for Nagas of Nagaland state while `Thuingaleng Muivah`s solution will be only for Manipur Nagas`.

“However, we will be talking with the government of India for the whole Nagas,” said the NSCN-K sources.

This development came a day after NSCN-Khole led group general secretary Kitovi Zhimomi`s statement that `any solution that may come about between government of India and Muivah could not be applied beyond Manipur`.

It is worthwhile to mention here that a delegation of NSCN-K had met “informally” with Union Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in New Delhi in the early part of this month and discussed “issues”.

The NSCN-K delegation headed by the outfit`s `kilonser` (minister) Wangtin Naga had met Sushil Kumar Shinde. The meeting was “informal”.

However, official sources had disclosed NNN that a four-member NSCN-K team led by Wangtin Naga had gone to New Delhi by boarding a plane from Dimapur Airport.

The sources said that what the Union home minister had said was detailed it to the outfit`s chairman S.S Khaplang.

It is speculated that the “informal” meeting between the NSCN-K delegation and the Union home minister could be “to start the formal peace parleys” between the two parties which is likely to take place from January.

Speculations have also been doing the round that the “comments” of S.S Khaplang has been awaited. NSCN-K supremo S.S Khaplang is presently confined in Myanmar.
