IMPHAL, November 16: Rk Devjit/M Somibala of Manipur was lost to Sankeerth BR/Devika Ravindra of Karnataka by 10-21, 9-21 in the U-17 mixed doubles quarter final of the 37th Junior National Badminton Championship 2012 at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium today.
RK Devjit/M Somibala after getting bye in the first round entered second round.
In other first round matches, Manipur’s Yaitomba Irengbam/Dhanabati beat Rajasthan’s Pradeep Bilonia/Karma Meera by 22-20, 21-16 and enters second round.
In the second round, Manipur’s Yaitomba Irengbam/Dhanabati was lost to Chhattisgarh’s Praveenkumar Dhruv/Ankita Gupta by 21-18, 19-21, 21-12.
In the U-17 girls’ singles pre-quarter final, Manipur’s Purnima M was lost to Air India’s 1st seeded player Reshma Kartick by 14-21, 8-21. Purnima entered pre quarter final after getting bye in first and second round.
In the U-17 girls’ singles 2nd round matches, Manipur’s Dhanabati Chanu was lost to Assam’s Ashimita Chalina by 7-21, 2-21, Rubasala Hussain of Manipur was lost to 8th seeded player Arsheen Syed Saadath of Karnataka by 8-21, 7-21 and Somibala of Manipur was lost to Lostto Rini Tandel of Gujarat by 11-21, 15-21.
In the U-17 girls’ doubles 2nd round matches, Somibala/N Purnima of Manipur was lost to Vaishnarik/Pooja of Rajasthan by 21-5, 16-21, 21-15, Pooja Kameil/Dhanabati Chanu of Manipur was lost to Revati Devasthal of Maharastra/Vaishnari Iyer of Karnataka by 5-21, 15-21.
In the U-19 boys’ singles 1st round, Y Ajay Singh of Manipur was lost to Ravi Kushwal of Madhya Pradesh by 18-21, 14-18, Yaiphapa Heikrujam of Manipur was lost to Puneet Meena of Rajasthan by 9-20, 21-9, 20-22.
In the U-19 boys’ singles 2nd round, Malemnganba of Manipur was lost Pranav of Pondicherry by 8-21, 8-21; H Thoithoi of Manipur was lost to Manojit Singh Rk of Tripura by 12-21, 11-21.
In the U-19 girls’ singles pre quarter, Angita Naorem of Manipur was lost to Srutti K of Kerala by 3-11, 10-21.
In the first round, Puja Kamei of Manipur was lost to Lalanpui Agnes of Mizoram by 14-21, 10-21.
In the second round, Rebika N of Manipur was lost to Ruthvika Shivani of Andhra Pradesh by 9-21, 9-21, Priyanka Bora of Manipur was lost to Rashmeet Kaur of Delhi by 12-21, 9-21.
In the U-19 girls’ doubles first round, Rubasaha Hussain/Dhanabati Chanu of Manipur were lost to Ahilya Harjam/Shruti Mundoda of Maharashtra by 6-21, 15-21, Priyanka Bora/Rebika N of Manipur was lost to Rashi Doshi/Anouskar of Gujarat by 9-21, 7-21.
In the U-17 boys’ doubles second round, Dikson Singh/Unilkumar of Manipur was lost to Adarsh Srivasta/Sanjai Srivasta of Pondicherry by 16-21, 13-21, Thoithoi/Sanajaoba of Manipur was lost to Vishal Verma of Pondicherry/Akshay Jassotiya of Chhattisgarh by 21-14, 17-21, 19-21.
