IMPHAL, November 7: The joint co-ordination committee of engineering departments comprising of four major departments of the state government, PWD, PHED, IFCD and MID staged sit-in-protest at the Public Works Department office complex since yesterday.
The sit-in-protest is being held against the non payment of ROP 2010 to work charged staffs and non payment of pay for 18 months in PWD and IFCD.
They will continue their sit-in for 4 to 5 days and if the state government fails to fulfil their demands, they (joint co-ordination committee of engineering department) will further launch cease work strike in all the four departments, said secretary of the joint committee, B Gunamani, speaking to media persons,
Demanding the state government to clear their due salary and ROP 2010 before the Ningol Chakouba festival, he further said that in regard to the matter, the coordination committee had already submitted memorandums to the Chief Minister as well as Chief Secretary, on September 14 but till today they have not received any positive response from the state government.
