IMPHAL, November 1: The 8th State Level All Style Martial Arts’ Championship 2012 organized by Mansuria Kung Fu Federation under the aegis of Bishnupur district Martial Arts Association begins today at Ngaikhong Khullen Community Hall.
Around 250 players including boys and girls from various parts of the state are taking part in championship.
The inauguration function today was attended Y Nabachandra, president of United Committee Manipur and Ingocha, Upa-Pradhan of Ngaikhong Khullen Gram Panchayat as chief guest and president and members of ward number 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of the Ngaikhong Khullen Gram Panchayat as guests of honours respectively.
Addressing the function, Y Nabachandra said practicing martial art is good for heath. It not only increases the knowledge but also keeps the person who practises it away from using drugs or nicotine.
The United Committee Manipur donated six bags of rice and one bag of daal to the players.

K Amarjit of Thoubal beat H Johnson of Kwakeithel, while Th Speed of Nachou defeated L Somorjit of Khangabok in the 31-35 kg boys first round bouts.
Y Chinglensana of Mayang Langjing defeated N Somananda of Nachou, while N Tondon of Kakching Khunou beat Ksh Jagdish of Kakching in the 41-45 kg boys first round bouts.
L Kishan of Nachou defeated O Surjit Kwakeithel in the 46-50 kg boys first round bouts.
