Two 13 year olds remain traceless; locals stage sit in protest

IMPHAL, December 13: A large number students and locals of Tharoijam, Imphal West staged a sit in protest demanding the clarification from all concerned regarding the whereabouts of two boys who have remained traceless since sometime back.

The two young boys have been identified as Thokchom Birjit alias Babloo, 13 son of Kumar of Tharoijam and Soibam Surjakanta, 13 son of Somen of Yurembam Awang Leikai.

According to Birjit’s father, Kumar the boys though from different localities, meet frequently being related to one another.

He said while Surjakanta had remained traceless since November 28, his son Birjit was found missing the next day on November 29.

He said he came to know of Surjakanta’s missing only after the boy’s father came to his home and informed them.

On November 29, Birjit had washed himself and went out of his house at around 7am and has failed to return till date, the father continued.

He also informed that he had received a call from his son on his mobile phone some days back asking him to come and take him (Birjit) out, but failed to informed his whereabouts.

The father continued he had failed to save the mobile number also.

Birjit is the eldest amongst three siblings with two younger sisters and is a class VI student of Pari Imom Shindamshang Langjing, while Surjakanta is a class VIII student of Pole star Public School, Patsoi.

The two families had inquired with all their relatives and friends but failed to trace the two boys, Kumar continued.

He said a missing report has been filed with Patsoi police already and further appealed to all concern to release the two boys safe and sound considering their age and families.
