IMPHAL, February 20: The body of a non-Manipuri was also found hanging today. This follows the retrieval of a dead body of a non-Manipuri who was burnt to death and found on the bank of the Phousenphai river under Churachandpur police station on 18 February.
According to information received by IFP from the police, the dead body was found at an area of Pearsonmon, 4 km south west of Churachandpur police station.
The dead body was found hanging from a tree growing at the area.It was deposited by the police at the RIIMS morgue after the police had picked it up today at around 8.15 a.m. and identified it.
The deceased has long hair and moustache and is fair-complexioned.
Appearing about five feet and five inches tall, the deceased had a black mole under the left eye.
Attired in red striped T-shirt with `RBK` written and a red pyjama, sources said that the deceased looks like a GREF or BRTF personnel but that his names and address cannot be ascertained.
On the other hand, the names and address of the non-Manipuri recovered by this police station on 18 February has not been established yet and has been deposited at the RIIMS morgue.
