IMPHAL, February 11:The UNLF has in a press release stated that even with draconian laws and heavy militarization of Manipur, the GOI is finding it very hard to suppress UNLF and the ongoing  liberation struggle of the resilient Manipuri peoples.

It accused it further of  resorting to many covert operations including  secret killings, bombings, sabotage and breaking all  international laws.

The release further said that in the intervening night of 6 and 7 of February 2013, a special  team of 44 Bn AR Kasung post under 10 Sector AR of IOF with close co-ordination with 24 BN AR under 9 sector AR deploying at Moreh crossed inside Myanmar territory and conducted a sabotage operation and  destroyed a bridge at about 20 mile north of Tamu along Tamu – Minthar  road of Myanmar. Stating that the action was  ” a clear case of war as well as an act of Trans- national Terrorism, the outfit alleged that that the central security forces tried to pass the blame to UNLF by pasted a poster with, “Long Live UNLF, Long Live Meghen,  Kabaw Valley belongs to Manipur and not to Burmese Dogs” written on it. The release further went on to add that leftover pieces of “rotis” (indian bread) and a lot of jungle boot trails lead to Kasung post.

It said that “the act of sabotage is a covert operation of Indian military to drive a wedge between the Manipuri people and Burmese people.”

Taking the cue from global terrorism, India is so far trying to garner the  world support to denounce UNLF and other Revolutionary parties of  Manipur as terrorists, which are fighting to regain the lost sovereignty and independence of Manipur which India forcibly annexed, the UNLF statement added continuing that

The Amnesty International, and other Human Right Forums, UN  Human Right rapporteurs who visited the region from time to time have seen the real scene and acknowledged our liberation struggle and mentioned in their reports that the Indian state is the real culprit exercising state terrorism with draconian laws like AFSPA `58.
