Application invited for Kabir Puraskar award

IMPHAL, March 14: Applications are invited for Grade I, Grade II and Grade III awards given by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India as a sign of appreciation to those persons working for maintaining communal harmony and national integration, informed a statement issued by Additional Secretary (Home), Government of Manipur.

The nominees selected from the applications submitted by the applicants through DCs/ADCs for Kabir Puraskar award 2013 will be sent to Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India by the Home Department, Government of Manipur latest by May 15, 2013.

The applicants should be those who put their life in danger during situations like communal riots to save the lives of person and property of other community and those who saves person and property of other caste and ethnic group during caste conflict and ethnic clash.

The statement said award will be announced on October 2, 2013 and handed over by Prime Minister of India in a function held at New Delhi. The award consists of Rs 200000, Rs 100000, and Rs 50000 respectively for Grade I, Grade II and Grade III along with citations.
