IMPHAL, Mar 4: The proscribed United People’s Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) in a statement signed by its information & publicity officer Maj America has said that the outfit is preparing for a Peace talk with the Government of Manipur and Government of India.
The statement further lamented the efforts of several quarters of the society to disintegrate Manipur.
It further clarified that its advisor Meisnam Biren alias Chamba Sagolband Meino Leirak, Chairman Bonbihari alias Laanganrba of Thangmeiband, External affairs Secretary Lousangbam Kritibabu Mangang alias Uraaba of Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai and Assistant publicity secretary Laishrarn Ranjit alias Khuman of Mayang Imphal are not deserters as was reported by several local dailies on February 2. It said the report was due to some inside miscommunication in the outfit.
