IMPHAL, Apr 30: Lamlai Block Congress Committee organized a one day political conference at Lamlai Ibudhou Pureiromba Lamdang today.
Speaking at the occasion, Gaikhangam President of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) said the Congress party is an age old party and other parties had not succeeded in trying to imitate the party.
“Amidst guns and bombs, the people has elected 42 seats from the Congress out of a total 60 seats. This shows that if people prefer the Congress party there is no use for guns and bombs. We should try not to lose the belief and preference of the people,” he said.
He then said, Manipur the gateway of South East Asia is a place for trade and commerce. Many development programs and initiatives have been taken up in the state by the Chief Minister and we should cooperate to bring more developments.
The state would come to the hands of wealthy people and it is not the time for the youths to spend their time using drugs or joining underground groups or being spoilt, Gaikhangam added.
The occasion was attended by T Mangi Babu, MLA Thanga AC and Vice President MPCC; T Manga Vaiphei, MLA Henglep AC and other functionaries of MPCC.
