IMPHAL, Apr 24: The People’s Revolutionary party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has in a press statement welcomed the proposed visit of the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women Rasida Manju.
The statement said, violence against women in the state has reached an alarming rate however the proposed two day visit of the UN Special Rapporteur to the state is welcomed by the outfit with utmost pleasure.
It said that the outfit strongly believe that following the visit of the UN Rapporteur to the state, she will take up all possible steps which would be a new beginning in the history.
The statement has further appealed to the people of Manipur to welcome the UN Special Rapporteur during her visit to Imphal.
