IMPHAL, June 28: The Committee on Human Rights (COHR), Manipur has today issued a press release conveying its concern on the killing of the 6 NSCN (K) cadres in an alleged fake encounter by the 10th Assam Riffles on June 22, 2013. It further expressed of acknowledging the various press statements published in the local dailies regarding this issue that are condemning the alleged fake encounter, and at the same time this Rights body has condemned the killing of the 6 cadres in the alleged fake encounter, it said.
It further said that COHR supports the demand for the institution a Special Investigation Team so as to probe the alleged fake encounter and will extend support in the democratic struggle so that such unwanted action will end in the state, it said.
