Nagaland organization, drivers` body provides help to stranded passengers

IMPHAL, June 18: The Surface Transport Eco-environment Society, Nagaland and the Manipur Drivers’ Union today jointly distributed free eatable items and water to the passengers and drivers who were left stranded at Khuzuma in Nagaland due to the 48 hour bandh called by the United Naga Council, UNC in all Naga inhabited areas of Manipur starting from midnight of June 16.

Altogether around 100 vehicles coming from other states to Manipur were left standard including four passenger buses, 10 wingers and different goods carrying Tata trucks at the spot.

Speaking over phone, to Imphal Free Press, the sorganisation secretary of the Manipur Drivers’ Union said that the distribution of free eatable items and drinking waters were taken up jointly by the Manipur Drivers’ Union and Surface Transport Eco-Environment Society to extend some help to the passengers and the truck drivers coming from other state toward who were left stranded at Khuzuma due to the 48 hour bandh.
