Social Service at Moreh Hospital

MOREH, June 8: The Minority Women Development Society and Nupi Khunai Chaokht Lamjing Lup have today jointly organised a social service at Moreh hospital starting 11 am while the Moreh Fire Service provided necessary water facilities.

The social service was done in view of the ongoing diarrhea problem at the border town.

Meanwhile, Meherani Begum of Minority Women Development Society and Th Jamuna Devi of Nupi Khunai Chaokht Lamjing Lup have questioned the MO in-charge Dr Th Nandakeshor Singh on the spread of diarrhea at Moreh.

The doctor replied, ‘Sample of human solid waste was sent to Imphal for lab test to know the causes of disease. Some patients were discharged. The hospital registered a total number of 200 patients’ and continued that ‘despite shortage of hospital manpower, the present doctor team managed our level best to the satisfaction of patient parties.’ On considering the present epidemic like situation, Dr Nandakeshor added, ‘the doctor ratio for the 50 bedded hospital should be 15 doctors while there is only 6 doctor, 8 nurses instead of 25 out of which 2 nurses are on maternity leave.’

He further narrated that the hospital OPD was working today even if it is second Saturday bearing in mind the grave condition of the disease.
