IMPHAL, August 31: The Langmeidong Dramatic Union in collaboration with Manipur State Kala Academy, Imphal would be organising the ‘’38th Kha Manipur Drama Festival, 2013’’ starting from October 18, conveyed a press release issued by Dr Y Radheshyam Singh, convenor Festival Organising Committee LDU.
The festival would be based on integrity, nurturing of talented artiste and developing of theatre art in villages and various 33 awards will be given to respective winners. Interested persons and registered organisations may admit to take part in the festival before October 9, it added.
Meanwhile, members of the union in a meeting has condoled the sudden demise of renowned theatre actor, director and Sumang Lila director Birjit Ngangombam who passed away on August 29 last.
During the meeting, a two minute silence was observed as a mark of respect and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
