Draft electoral rolls published

IMPHAL, Sept 4: The Chief electoral Officer, Manipur said in a press note that as per the schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India, the draft Photo Electoral Rolls of all 60 (sixty) Assembly Constituencies have been published on  September 2, 2013 by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs).

The press note further continued that the general public/electors and representatives of political parties may inspect/verify the draft photo electoral rolls at the offices of the EROs/AEROs, and at all the designated locations (polling stations) from September 2 to October 1, 2013. They may file/lodge claims/objections/corrections in the prescribed forms which are available free of cost at these designated locations or at the offices of EROs/AEROs during the entire revision claim period from September 2 to October 1, 2013.

Further, one printed copy of the draft electoral rolls of each assembly constituency will be made available by the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur and another copy in CD ROM will also be made available free of cost to the recognized National and State political parties. They may depute one representative of their party duly authorized (in writing) to CEO`s office for this purpose as per the press notification.

Any additional copy can be purchased @ RS.2/- per page and CD-ROMS @ Rs.300/- per CD-ROM per assembly constituency by the political parties and individual from CEO`s Office, Lamphel.

The draft photo electoral rolls, 2014 of all 60 assembly constituencies have also been uploaded in CEO`s official website: www.ceomanipur.nic.in the same has also been linked up to ECl’s website: www.eci.gov.in  is made available for public view by all interested persons.

The claims/objections filed by the general public during the prescribed period will be disposed of by the concerned EROs on or before the November 2, 2013. The concerned EROs will finally publish the electoral rolls containing the supplement list of additions, deletions and corrections on the January 6, 2014.
