IMPHAL, Nov 27: The GPRN/NSCN-K has clarified that the outfit was not involved in the gun fight that took place between Zaliangrong United Front (ZUF) and NSCN-IM at Haochongpung between Lukhambi and Nagaching around 12:30 pm yesterday.
A statement issued by the publicity wing of the outfit, strongly opposed certain news report indicating the outfit’s involvement stating that it was a baseless report.
Urging all the armed groups operating in Tamenglong district to shun all sorts of fraternal killing amongst the Zeliangrong brethren, especially taking into consideration the approaching festival ahead like Orange festival, Christmas and New Year. At the same time, the public are fed up of violence, it added.
If the current trend continues to persist, the GPRN/NSCN-K will not remain a silent spectator, it warned while urging the other armed groups to retreat to their own area/locations.
