BISHNUPUR, February 21: A one-day-long interpersonal communication and awareness program was held today at Sunusiphai Bazar which was jointly organised by the District Water and Sanitation Committee Bishnupur, PHED Bishnupur and SEHCDO, Bishnupur.
The function was attended by O Meino, executive engineer PHED, Bishnupur; M Ibomcha, pradhan Phubala cum member secretary DWSC, Bishnupur; L Gokulchand, assistant engineer PHED, Moirang sub-division; K Bishorjit, assistant engineer; S Deben, section officer Bishnupur HQ; O Joy, pradhan Thinungei; as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Dr Kh Modhumangol, retired CMO, Bishnupur and MC Thoiba, social worker attended as resource persons.
Speaking at the function, Gokulchand said that it is the duty of chowkidars and lineman to provide water to the public from the water supply schemes.
So as a national program village committees are formed and to monitor that the service is properly provided, he said.
The awareness and participation of public is very much needed to sanitise the public on the issue, he continued.
Dr Modhumangol said that our people are not sensitized on the issues of health and sanitisation.
