Kwakta bodies continue fight against drug abuse

BISHNUPUR, April 2: In continuation of the steps taken up against the use and sale of intoxicants in the general area of Kwakta, Kwakta Youth Association, Anita Standard High School and Anjuman Eslahe Mausharah Kwakta jointly organised a rally today.

The rally was flagged off by Jametal Moulana Islahuddin Oasma, president Anjuman in the presence of Md Nurahaman, president of KYA and Md Abdul Hakim, principal Anita Standard High School.

The rally participated by around 300 locals started from Kwakta public ground and after passing through Terakhong, Khuman Thongkhong, Sandhong, Umbu, Charangpat, Sepla, Pangal Lamkhai concluded at where the rally started.

Speaking to media persons, Md Abdul Hakim said Anjuman will continue its action against the use and sale of intoxicants in the area.

He said today’s rally was a warning against the abusing and selling of drugs in the local villages.

Helps from the law will also be taken up if the need arise and victims found will be referred to the Lilong rehabilitation centre, he said.
