Red shield division organises picnic for `our brave ladies`

IMPHAL, April 19: The Red Shield Division organized a picnic at Lokoipat and Loktak Lake for over one hundred twenty ladies of various communities and Self Help Groups on April 19, 2014, said a press release from the PRO Defence Wing.

The release further said that the ladies of the Hope Care Women’s Network, New Checkon; Tabitha Compassion on Care Centre (a project of MBC Women’s Department); Door of Hope, Koirengei; Grace Centre, Namdunlong Imphal and various other Women Self Help Groups of Imphal participated in the fun filled, enjoyable and lively outing.

The ladies on arrival at Lokoipat were given a warm welcome by the Officers and men of Red Shield Division.  The sumptuous breakfast followed by musical chair and tug of war with live orchestra music in the background made it an eventful occasion.   The ladies were later taken to Sendra where they were hosted to a grand lunch followed by boating in Loktak Lake.

Romashini Laishram of Tabitha Compassion on Care Centre said that laughter and joy on the faces of the ladies were really delightful and a great change from their mundane routine life, it said and added that Ashim Panmei of Grace Centre welcomed such efforts of Security Forces and acknowledged the soft hearted and thoughtful gesture of inviting and hosting them.

It further narrated that Dasuwati Thiyam of Hope Care Women’s Network appreciated the efforts of Red Shield Division and said that she will always cherish fondly the lovely day out. Avon Chamroy of Door Hope also conveyed thanks to Red Shield Division as large number of them were able to end her childhood reverie of boating in the Lokoipat and Loktak Lake, it said.
