IMPHAL, April 11: Independent candidate for the April 17 Lok Sabha election for the inner seat Oinam Indira has today said that she will put her best effort to solve the issue of Sharmila’s hunger strike, if elected as the MP.

She was speaking at her flag hoisting ceremony at her Pishumthong Oinam Leikai residence.

Reacting to a statement of the state deputy chief minister that Meinya could be inducted in the Union ministry if he is elected for the third time, she said how can someone who is not even fit of contesting the MP election be inducted in the Union ministry.

The only woman candidate for the seat who was denied a party ticket by the BJP said the BJP president, Th Chaoba had forgotten that she was the only one who contested against chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh. She said she will show the BJP president what a woman can do. Chaoba is destroying his party, she said before adding that a blind person cannot identify pure milk. Speaking about her objectives, she said she will fight for unemployment, AFSPA, women empowerment, corruption.
