IMPHAL, Oct 31: The All Manipur Working Journalist Union has extended its greetings and warm wishes to the Chin-Kuki-Mizo community on the occasion of Kut and further resolved that its members should be given free access to cover the State-level function.
A statement of the union said that as all members of the union are bonafide journalists and the festival being organised by the SLKC at the first battalion, Manipur Rifles parade ground is an important public function and hence it is requested to the SKLC to respect the press and make arrangements to allow all bonafide journalists of the State to cover the Chavang Kut.
It also appealed to all its bonafide members who are assign by their respective media organisations to cover the festival to discharge their duties professionally and display their press identity cards at all times so that no awkward incidents occur and to aid the smooth conduct of the all important Chavang Kut.
