IMPHAL, November 24: The Maoist Communist Party, Manipur has called a 17 hour general strike from midnight of November 29 to 5pm of November 30 against the proposed visit of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to Manipur.
A statement of the proscribed outfit said the Prime Minister of India is coming not for the welfare of the people of Manipur but to visit a festival and rob the land.
It said if the colonial rule is truly considerate of the people than the AFSPA should be repealed and implement the Inner Line Permit System.
