IMPHAL, November 26: The United Manipur Muslim Women Development Organisation has said that under the power provided by Manipur State Minorities Commission (MSMC) Act, the incompetent Chairperson, A. Helim Choudury and Members of the Manipur State Minority Commission (MSMC) must be dismissed as soon as possible.
According to a release of the organisation, the chairperson and his members have already exceeded their work period in the MSMC. The organisation has appealed to the Manipur Government to replace the chairperson and members with qualified Muslims who understand the issues of the state before the upcoming Minority Rights Day on December 18.
The organisation also warned that strong agitations will be taken up if the government fail to give in to their demands and will further take up their issues to the Prime Minister of India, Ministry of Minority Affairs and national Commission for Minority, it said.
