House passes Rs 3567.46 crores unanimously on motion for vote on account for the fiscal year

IMPHAL, February 26: The State Legislative Assembly has passed a sum of Rs 3567.46 crores for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2015-16 unanimously in the second day of 10th session of the tenth Manipur Legislative Assembly, today.

The voting on motion for the vote on account was moved by the Chief Minister for the salaries of the fiscal year in advance for defraying the charge in respect of different departments shown in the schedule appended for meeting the expenditure likely to be incurred during the month of April to July, 2015 pending detail consideration and passing of the demand for the full financial year.

Clarifying to the general observation of Dr I Ibohalbi, the Chief Minister said his observation that the State Plan expenditure was 25% till December last year could be wrong. The total expenditure for the year was Rs 3000 crores, he said, and now the status of the plan budget against the released fund has reached 75% from both the plan and non-plan sources. From a total Rs 450 crores from SPA, only Rs 170 crores remains to be released.

He said that that the State plan budget might reach 90% at the end of the March 31, 2015.
