Agitation threatened if Govt fails to rescue allegedly kidnapped girl

IMPHAL, March 24: A Joint Action Committee formed against the alleged kidnapped 17 year old minor school girl, along with several civil society organisations demanded the State Government to find the whereabouts of the alleged kidnapped girl within three days or else they would start a series of agitations said Kakomlunglu Kamei, president Kabui Mother Association (KMA).

Addressing media persons this evening at a press meet held at the resident of the victim girl at Gaipuinam village, Ranjita Kamei General Secretary KMA said a Kabui girl ages of 17 year who appeared Class XII CBSC exam had been reported kidnapped on March 18 on her way home from her Hostel at Lamboi Khangnagkhong Miracle Tutorial Hostel by a Muslim Md Afsar son of Najimudin from Top Kshetri Mayai Lekai.

The matter came to light after one day of the kidnapping, when one of her friends called up family members that the girl had left hostel for home on March 18 and whether she reached safely, for did not report back at hostel.

On confirming from hostel authority she has been missing, the girl`™s family made a complaint at the Lamphel Police station, and lodged an FIR lodge Number 77(3)2015 LPS 366-A/368 IPC on March 21.

She said, regrettably the police refused to take the complaint on March 20.

The girl is still missing, but the Kshtrigao MLA Amin Shah along with the parent of Md Afsar came to police station and reported that girl eloped to their son and love each other.

The girl parents then asked for the girl to be sent back to home as customary law of communities, but till girl has still not been brought home and continues to be kept in the custody of Md. Afsar.

She alleged that the police OC O Dorendro has not performed his responsible of finding out the where about of the girl till today and said the family suspects he favours the wealthy family of Afsar.

Dorendro also assaulted the victim girl family with verbal abuses when they went to complain further.

She said the JAC against the kidnapping of the school girl has demanded the government, in particular the Deputy Chief Minister who also hold the Home portfolio, to take action and ensure the girl is brought back home within three days.

The JAC also demanded immediate suspension of the OC O Dorendr Singh for manhandling victims girl`™s father and for used of abuses and offensive language against her mother.

The JAC also said authorities of Miracle Hostel of Lamboi Khongnangkhong should be booked and punish as per law of land too for their negligence.

If the government fails, the JAC will launch intense agitation in collaboration with likeminded civil organisation, she said.
