Govt urged to frame policy for private schools

IMPHAL, April 18: Citizen Rights for Peoples Welfare and Development urge the State Government to formulate a specific admission and enrolment policy for all private schools in Manipur.

This was mentioned in their memorandum submitted to the Minister of Education, GOM in regard to the present academic crisis in Manipur after a one day dialogue at press club with retired Justice C Upendra and Social Activist Leihaothabam Sharatchandra Sharma.

The submission signed by LC. Minabanta, Convenor, urge the state government to facilitate resumption of normal classes from April 20.

It appealed to the Catholic school authorities to frame a transparent concrete admission policy before December 1 this year.

It further urge the state government to expedite the fact finding enquiry on the current closure of schools and share its report.

They stressed the need for a powerful Regulatory Body under the state government to supervise the administration, fees, teachers`™ salaries, infrastructure and learning and teaching process of both CBSE and BOSEM private schools.
