IMPHAL, Apr 27: The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions`™ Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees`™ Organisation (AMGEO) has said that the mass casual leave agitation was today fully supported by the employees, workers and pensioners in connection with the government`™s failure to fulfill their demands.
According to a release of the JAC, representatives of the JAC has already met with the Chief Secretary without any success on fulfilling their demands. Although the JAC was reluctant to take up the agitation, the government`™s failure to fulfill their demands led to the agitation.
It also questioned why the Manipur government failed to provide the benefit of 6th Central pay for its employees while neighbouring State governments provided it to their employees.
The JAC extended their gratitude towards, employees, workers and pensioners for taking part in the three days mass casual leave, it said.
