IMPHAL, May 4: Hearing of the case filed against president of Manipur People`™s Party (MPP) N Sovakiran Singh in the Civil Judge Court, Senior Division No 1, Lamphelpat by three party members for suspending them for six years from the central and working committee of the party will be held on May 21.
It may be recalled here that on April 24 last, the Civil Judge Court had asked the party president ie respondent of the case to appear before the court today.
However, counsel of the respondent appeared in place of him. The counsel pleaded before the court for more time so as to enable to prepare documents sought from his client in connection with the case.
The court accepted the plea and fixed the hearing of the case on May 21. The case hearing is to be held under Judicial Misc Case No 259 of 2015 Ref original (Declaratory) Suit No 43 of 2015.
The three petitioners of the case have been identified as L Apabi, N Singhajit and AK Sanaton. They filed the case in the court on April 22 last challenging the suspension order of them from the central and working committee of MPP by its president which according to them is against the party constitution.
