IMPHAL, May 6: Staff of `YES`™ packaged drinking water today staged a sit in protest against frequent bandhs and blockades in the State at the factory site located at Yairipok Bamon Leikai, Imphal West.
In the sideline of the sit in demonstration, `YES`™ general assistant Nongmaithem Anil said the frequent bandhs and blockades in the State has hindered small scale industries.
He said that the Manipur is in the initial stage of industrialisation and the State could only accommodate small scale industries as of now.
He added that the unemployed educated youths of the State are somehow getting a platform to get employment through these small scale industries but unfortunate repeated bandhs have hampered their growth.
He further said that the alternative ways of agitations in a democratic means would bring better solutions to the present grievances of the state.
Later the staffs shouted slogan `Bandh blockade, Tokpiro` (Stop bands and blockades).
