Lecturers` association find no regular teacher at Moreh Hr Sec during visit

IMPHAL, May 31: The All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers`™ Welfare Association has said that a five member team of the association went for an inspection tour of the Moreh Higher Secondary School on May 31.

According to a release of the association, the inspection tour was taken part by Principal of the Nambol Higher Secondary, M. Shanti Singh, Toloi Higher Secondary Principal, M. Jadumani, President of the association, M. Devendro, General Secretary of the association, Joykumar and Representative of the association, A. Sanatomba Singh.

The school accommodate classes 1 to 12 with a strength of 730 students. There are 50 students in class 12. Although the school has a regular principal, L. Prempyari Devi, there are no regular lecturers in the school. The students are being taught by 18 contract teachers. The school is in need of English, Manipuri, Education, Physics, Chemistry, etc, teachers. More importantly, the school does not have a commerce stream.

The association has appealed to concerned authority, Minister and Education department to provide the much needed lecturers as well as a clerk. It also appealed for graduate and primary teachers.

During the inspection, the association also looked into the infrastructure of the school. The school is semi-pucca and in need of a science lab. It also appealed to finish the construction of the boys and girls hostels as soon as possible. The association will submit a report on the materials needed in the schools. The association shared a mid day meal with the school, it said.
