KANGPOKPI, August 17: A police official of Kangpokpi has been placed under suspension today after the addl DC Sadar Hills unfurled the national flag upside down during the August 15 celebration of India`™s 69th Independence Day at Brig. Thomas ground, Kangpokpi.
Superintendent of Police Senapati K Kabib placed assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Jatra Rao of Kangpokpi Police under suspension for negligence following the faux pas.
Addl DC Sadar Hills DK. Thangboi was left embarrassed when he noticed that he had unfurled the flag upside down at Brig. Thomas Ground.
Meanwhile, civil society organizations in Sadar Hills blamed the concern authority for the faux pas and expressed unhappiness over their negligence.
However, the immediate action on the part of District Administrator Jacintha Lazarus, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati; DK Thangboi, addl DC Sadar Hills and K. Kabib, Superintendent of Police Senapati has been appreciated by the Sadar Hills CSOs.
