State Malaria Officer led team visits Churachandpur village to check for dengue

CHURACHANDPUR, October 6: The State Malaria Officer (SMO) also the State Nodal Offer(SNO) Jamkhokam Kuki led a team of two doctors and consultant of IEC/ BCC, and visited Rangkai Village, in Churachandpur which is considered the epi-centre of Dengue detection in the district.

The team had also met with the CMO Churachandpur Thangchinkhup Guite at his office.

The team who came to take stock of the situation also met with Dengue patients at their homes mostly in Rangkai area.

They also distributed pamphlets and leaflets to create awareness among the people regarding Dengue.

It may be mentioned that 10 out of 27 suspected cases have been tested positive of dengue so far.

The official team also check for breeding grounds of mosquitoes in the area.

They said they will further monitor the situation and if required come again.

The SMO also said they plan to open another isolated ward in the district hospital for which they had already met with the MS Churachandpur District Hospital S Samte.

It may be mentioned that the first test for dengue was conducted on the first of this month and the confirmation of positive case came back on October 3 in the district.

The district medical authority had also conducted fogging last month and was repeated this evening in the area in an effort to control mosquito breeding.

By an order from the office of CMO/DMO, fogging was repeated today, especially in Rangkai and its surrounding areas including the SP`™s residence.
