CHANDEL, November 22: The Kuki Students ` Organization (KSO) Chandel District has temporarily lifted its call of indefinite bandh imposed along the Imphal-Moreh Section of National Highway 102 this evening.

The decision was taken following assurance given by the State Government to relocate the examination centre of D.El.Ed 2 yrs Examination for Tengnoupal BRC IGNOU Study Centre within the district during a meeting held today.

It has been informed that the meeting was attended by Education Minister M Okendro Singh; IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip; Tengnoupal MLA D Korungthang and Chandel`s ADC Chairman Lhukhosei Zou besides the representatives of KSO.

Prior to lifting the indefinite bandh, several vehicles including officials for receiving Sangai Festival`s foreign delegates and security forces personnel were stranded in between Saivom and Tengnoupal Village since early morning today as the bandh supporters blocked the highway by placing a JCB Excavator and bull dozer in the middle of the road.

Subsequently, with the decision to lift the bandh, all vehicles stranded along the route returned to their destinations.

It may be mentioned that the Kuki Student`s Organisation (KSO) Chandel had imposed indefinite bandh along the Imphal – Moreh Section of National Highway 102 in protest against shifting of D.El.Ed 2yrs Examination Centre of Tengnoupal BRC IGNOU Study Centre outside the District since November 14.
