Red Shield Div organizes military funeral

KANGPOKPI, November 7: Jwalamukhi Battalion of Senapati Brigade under Red Shield Division performed the last rites of Paratrooper Lucky Poudiyal with full military honor yesterday at Kanglatongbi cremation Hall.

According to Shiva Kumar Basnet, Pradhan of Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat, Lucky Poudiyal was a reaving soldier of elite Para Commandios based in Jammu & Kashmir, who lost his life in an unfortunate accident on November 4 when he was hit by a truck on National Highway 2 while riding a motor cycle.

He continued that the last rites, was carried out with full military honour under the supervision and presence of Commandant, Jwalamukhi Battalion of Senapati Brigade under Red Shield Division.

The Commandant extended sympathies of Senapati Brigade and Red Shield Division to the grief stricken family, Basnet said, adding that the Commandant also met with the family members of the deceased soldier and extended condolence while assuring of all help and support.

The Commandant also assured help and support to the bereaved family, he said.

Meanwhile, the Gorkha community also extended their grief and condolence to the tragedy struck family members and lauded the Jwalamukhi Battalion for paying full military honor to the departed soul.
