CHANDEL, December 21: Deputy Commissioner Chandel has negated the allegations made on communal lines by some Kuki civil bodies of the district which was published in the local dailies and clarified it as baseless and untrue.

Speaking to the media persons in his office chamber today, Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, DC Chandel said that it is very unfortunate that some Kuki Civil organizations accused me of being communal and made an allegation upon me for giving special opportunity to a particular organization for delivering speech in the recent held Advent Christmas.

The allegation made by the civil bodies is baseless and untrue as on the day of Advent Christmas none of the invited guests including the members of Chandel Naga People’s Organisation ( CNPO ) were given an opportunity to deliver speech except from the side of the elected members of District Council which was delivered by Ksm Mathew Maring, ADC Member, he said.

Ksm. Mathew Maring was also not given the opportunity to make a speech for his political affiliation but given as an elected ADC member of the District, clarified the DC.

The Deputy Commissioner also further clarified that on the fateful day, no one including the secretary of Kuki Chiefs ’ Association (KCA) Chandel made a request for delivering speech to him during the said program.

While appealing all not to hurl misleading allegation to tarnish his image, the Deputy Commissioner also said that such misleading allegation will not solve any misunderstanding but will only create an atmosphere of hatred and distrust among the different communities living in the district.

Meanwhile, in a press statement, the Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO ) also negated the allegation of some organizations of the district and clarified that none of its member deliver a speech on the day of the Advent Christmas organized by the District Administration as alleged by the some civil organizations of the District.
