MPCC stages sit in against BJP in National Herald case

IMPHAL, December 19: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) staged a sit in protest at Congress Bhawan today as part of a nation-wide protest of Congress leaders and workers in connection BJP MP Bala Subramanian’s allegation against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in connection with the National Herald case at the Patiala Court.

Speaking on the sideline of the protest, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said the party will happily accept the court’s verdict on the case.

He said instead of making baseless charges and blemish the reputation of someone just to gain some political mileage is wrong.

It is will be more fruitful to work together for the benefit of the people and development, he said.

MPCC president Gaikhangam who is also the Deputy Chief Minister also strongly condemned the allegations against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as baseless.

He said the allegation is not just against the Congress but it is against the whole country.

The sit in protest was attended by party MLAs, ministers, leaders, office bearers and others.
