IMPHAL, December 21: Cross-examination of leader of the outlawed organisation UNLF RK Meghen and several other key leaders of the outfit will begin from January 6, 2016 at the Special Court of National Investigation Agency.

The outfit leaders are facing trial in the court in accordance to the charge sheets framed by NIA against them following their arrest.

The court had earlier fixed December 17 to start cross-examination of the UNLF chairman and his accomplices, following which several media persons including national print and electronic media had stormed the court complex.

However, the Judge of the special court had deferred the date for cross-examination to next month citing that preparation of questions to be asked during the cross-examination was not completed.

It may be mentioned that 84 prosecution witnesses from the name list containing 114 names hade deposed in the case, while the NIA has submitted 205 related documents and produced 45 recovered material objects before the court.
