Sending elderly at Old age home ugly trend says AMWJU president

IMPHAL, December 9: The Ningthem Khudol celebration, a unique celebration marked by offering blankets and other items to the old aged persons in winter session was organized by Development Committee, Tera Keithel at Tera Keithel.

Speaking at the function All Manipur Working Journalist Union, Wangkhemcha Shyamjai said that one of the essential needs of being a good citizen is to show respect, discipline, care towards the senior citizen but today’s generation especially youth lacks such attitude.

In order to posses such qualities attitude towards citizen every youth must have a proper home schooling, school schooling and society schooling through which everyone can learn to become a good citizen, continued.

The hope of parents from their children to get good care, love and affection is mostly diminishing in this present generation, he said and adding that despite of care to be offer by their ward they put their parent to some old aged home to get relief from them.

Shyamjai ridiculing the trend, appealed the people not to encourage such ugly trend.
