IMPHAL, January 5: The BJP Manipur Pradesh will pressure central government to constitute CBI inquiry in the case of Ima Market that suffered heavy damage in Monday’s quake, said Th Chaoba president BJP.
The BJP president divulged this during a press meet convened after having visited various quake affected site of at Nambol, Bishnupur and Ima Market this afternoon.
He further said that it is very unfortunate quality was not maintained while constructing the historic Ima Market of Manipur adding that most of the construction work awarded to Simplex Company by the state government in the last 14 years is now in dire consequences.
Chaoba held that the people of Manipur should ban the company from taking further projects in Manipur in the future.
He accused Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, who is also holding the portfolio of chairman MAHUD, as the main factor behind all the fiasco that the people are witnessing.
In this regard the BJP Manipur Pradesh will pressure the central government to constitute an inquiry by an independent body.
Prior to the press meet Chaoba along with vice-president, I Mangiton and Yuva Morcha president, O Malesh and a team of media has inspected earthquake affected Bishnupur District.
